Scientific Board

I’m full professor at the Department of Sciences and Technologies, Parthenope University of Napoli.
My research interest are related to recycling processes on biorefinery systems for the extraction of biochemicals, biomaterials and bioenergy within integrated agro-industrial systems, in order to address the appropriate management of waste within a circular economy.

This aspect has been inspired and supported by my growing and ongoing research and teaching collaboration in numerous Chinese universities, including Beijing Normal University, Peking University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Dalian University of Technology, and China Agricultural University, to name a few.

As a result of this intense collaboration, in 2018 I co-founded the Matteo Ricci Network (http://matteoriccinetwork.it/), an association of 26 Italian and Chinese universities and research centers named after the memory of the great Jesuit scientist and priest Matteo Ricci, who visited China in the 17th century and built great collaborative ties between China and Italy.
